Even if you’re from San Francisco, you’ve never seen San Francisco like this. From the most iconic landmarks to underground destinations, “A Love Letter to San Francisco” pays homage to the city in a unique three-part VR film series: Land, Water, and City. It utilized the most cutting edge technology to paint an unprecedented picture of a city that’s changing every day, from sunrise to sunset. It debuted at the launch of Verizon’s San Francisco flagship store on Market Street, a next-generation store with a new design and approach to retail.
In the store’s immersive tech corner, RYOT created an installation where visitors experienced the three different films when stationed at one of the three kiosks outfitted with Google’s VR Daydream headset.
Visitors could also view 360-video loops of the episodes on separate monitor banks.
Over the course of 5 days, RYOT captured 30+ iconic San Francisco locations like the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, Sutro Baths, Union Square and had unprecedented access to drone and helicopter permits to capture beautiful 360 footage of the San Francisco sights and skyline.
